NFL Draft 2011: Mike Munchak's Draft Plans Unaffected by Kenny Britt's Arrest

What Will the Tennessee Titans Do in the 2011 NFL Draft?

Mike Munchak takes over the Tennessee Titans job and has some serious work to do. He has to start over and attempt to rebuild this franchise. The only good thing he has going for him right now is Chris Johnson. He's dumping Vince Young, and because of this lockout he has no quarterback.

I too would make that odd face if I were in Munchak's shoes. He faces a very difficult task of trying to turn this team around. The lockout is preventing him from talking to his players, and even though he's been on the staff for awhile he would still love to address his player know that he is head coach.

Kenny Britt was recently arrested and Munchak isn't allowed to speak to him. He said it's been difficult, but they'll manage to get by. Munchak also told Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean that Britt's arrest won't alter his draft plans.

That wouldn?t change anything, Munchak said of Britt?s arrest. That kind of stuff is unfortunate and disappointing, but it?s not going to change what our thinking is going into the draft. We know we need competition in that room like a couple of other rooms, but that won?t change or alter what we do in that in any way.

MUST READ: First Look at the 2012 NFL Mock Draft

Munchak needs to be looking at receivers. This is Britt's fifth incident with police since 2009. Unfortunately for him this draft isn't very deep at that position. Munchak can look to free agency to bolster up the receiving corps. His main focus of this draft is finding a quarterback.

Munchak would love for one of the top two guys to fall his way, but I seriously doubt that will happen. If he's smart he won't reach for a quarterback at the No. 8 pick. Munchak needs to boost the defensive line up by drafting one of the many talented prospects of this draft. In my latest mock draft I have the Titans picking up Nick Fairley of Auburn. He should still be on the board around this pick, and Munchak needs to snag him up.

The Titans are very likely to jump back into the first round to draft a quarterback. However, I think they can afford to wait and see what happens. Just sit back and wait until the second round to draft a quarterback. There is always free agency to pick up a veteran QB to help ease the transition for a rookie.

Whatever Munchak does in the draft just know he will have a hard time doing it. Rebuilding a franchise is not an easy task.
