Patrick Peterson Drops To San Francisco 49ers In 2011 NFL Mock Draft
Patrick Peterson is widely considered the top player in this draft at any position, so San Francisco isn?t going to pass him up with the seventh overall pick. He?ll join veteran Nate Clements at CB and look to improve on the NFL?s 24th-best pass defense from a season ago.
Some have questioned whether Peterson?s bulk (219 lbs at the combine) will force him to move to safety in the NFL. Even if he does, he?s a playmaker (4 INTs last year) who will make a big splash for the Niners? defense.
He?s also a weapon as a punt returner, just for good measure.
