ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers get festive with Santa-themed jerseys

If the NHL ever does expand or relocate to the city of Las Vegas, that franchise will have a helluva time trying to beat the efforts put forth by the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers.

If you'll recall, the Wranglers have given us some of the more memorable marketing efforts over the past few seasons using themed jerseys during games. From dressing like Rod Blagojevich prison uniforms to girl scouts, the Wranglers are kings of the minor league hockey jersey promotion and out of the box thinking.

(Non-jersey related, but how could we forget "Over 18" night, which featured a demonstration series on exotic dancing.)

Adding to their already long list of jerseys, the Wranglers got into the holiday spirit last weekend against the Idaho Steelheads with this Santa Claus-inspired look:

Putting Santa's scruffy white beard on the neckline? Priceless attention to detail.

The Wranglers were able to get the Bakersfield Condors and the officials to wear corrections officer and police-themed unis during "Blagojevich Night" two seasons ago. Too bad they couldn't get the Steelheads involved here to wear Grinch outfits.

In other Santa-themed jersey news, the ECHL's Elmira Jackals wore something similar this past weekend, but compared to the Wranglers, theirs just looks like a department store Santa.
