Ahead of All-or-Nothing Week 17, Seattle Takes a Knee in Tampa Bay

Pete CarrollTAMPA, Fla. -- Pete Carroll didn't waste a lot of time trying to spin or gloss over reality.

"We came here and got nothing out of this game," Carroll said Sunday night.

Sounded good, given the mess he'd just overseen, but truth be told, Carroll wasn't entirely accurate. The Seattle Seahawks flew across the country determined to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and leave Raymond James Stadium in control of their postseason fate.

Mission accomplished.

The Seahawks surrendered a Tampa Bay franchise-record five touchdown passes to Josh Freeman, allowed rookie tailback LeGarrette Blount to rush for a career-best 164 yards and surrendered 439 total yards in a 38-15 blowout loss that dumped the visitors three games under .500.

And they're still right where they wanted to be.
