Cam Newton NCAA Investigation: Does The Investigation Affect Newton's Decision?
A story that has gotten lost in the shuffle going into tonight's BCS Championship Game is the Cam Newton investigation.
In case you forgot, allegations came out a couple months ago that suggested Cam Newton's father, Cecil, was asking for payments from schools during his son's recruiting last year. A Mississippi State booster claimed that Cecil Newton told him in order to get his son that he would have to pay at least $100,000.
The NCAA has cleared Cam Newton in this case, but it does bring up an interesting dilemma for the Auburn quarterback.
Will he come back next year to possibly have to deal with more scrutiny?
Right now, given the way that everything has played out this year for Newton the chances are pretty slim. He has had a phenomenal year and his NFL stock will never be higher.
The NCAA investigation will not likely affect what Cam Newton does. His performance in tonight's game will likely be more of a factor than that investigation.
If he plays great, he is going to the NFL. If he has a bad game and his stock takes a hit, he could come back next year.
The answer will come after tonight's game.
