Ricky Rubio: Why He'll Be An Epic Failure in the NBA

Ricky Rubio Finally Signs with Minnesota:

Well, after almost two years has gone by Spanish basketball player Ricky Rubio has finally signed to play NBA ball with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team that drafted him.

Many people have probably forgotten about the Rubio saga either because once he was out of sight he was out of mind, or just for the unfortunate fact that Timberwolves basketball doesn?t get much love.

The Star Tribune reported that Rubio signed with the Timberwolves on Tuesday, the last day he could sign under the current labor agreement.

The question now becomes: How is Ricky Rubio going to translate to the NBA?

He is a pass first point guard so that is obviously going to be a big plus in his favor.

The problem is that I think he may suffer from his lack of experience in the NBA game, and the enormous pressure that is now on his shoulders.

Timberwolves fans have been waiting for Rubio to come across the pond for almost two years now, and the reality of the situation is that Minnesota has spent a lot of time and money trying to woo him back to the states after they drafted him.

If he does flop chances are he will become some kind ?social outcast? of the Minnesota sports world, and may even be portrayed as a scape goat.

From a basketball standpoint I like the intangibles that he is bringing to the Timberwolves, but I?m really not sure how his game is going to translate, especially on such a weak team.

The odds are stacked very heavily against Ricky Rubio and his potential success in the NBA.

Personally, I think he will be an epic failure.
