Andy Murray says he has more pills in him than Ozzy Osbourne

World No. 4 Andy Murray says he's been taking up to 20 painkillers a day during the French Open to deal with a torn ankle ligament. He joked that his consumption put him on par with famed rock star Ozzy Osbourne.

"I had about nine pills for breakfast, nine in the evening and then more before I go on court. I've taken close to 20 pills a day which is a lot. In fact, I've taken so many I've probably got more in me than Ozzy Osbourne."

"I hadn't tested my ankle out. I was just going to give it a shot. Once I realized how it was feeling I managed to play through it.

"They were very, very strong pills. I took two more today. I feel a million bucks now. I am sure when they wear off I won't."

Murray wouldn't specify which pills he was taking, but I'll guess they were somewhere in between Extra Strength Tylenol and morphine.

The top-ranked British player turned his ankle during a third-round win over Michael Berrer. Though he was advised to rest the injury, Murray played his fourth-round match, which ended up stretching out over two days. Wednesday is the third consecutive day he'll play a match on the red clay of Roland Garros.

Murray faces Juan Ignacio Chela in the quarterfinals.
