2011 NBA Mock Draft: Kyle Singler Slides to Boston Celtics at Pick 28

Sub Par Performance in 2011 NCAA Tournament Hurts NBA Draft Status of Kyle Singler

He's going to be a small forward at the next level, but will have some big-time issues staying in front of the more athletic players at the position.

His fundamentals and basketball IQ are high enough that a good team should snag him and let him develop. Going to a team like the Celtics would allow him to fill a role without being too heavily relied upon.

ESPN?s Chad Ford had this to say about Singler:

?Long arms and good size for his position?excellent mid-range jumper?lacks lateral quickness?.needs to add strength to his body?

If Singler can bulk up and be able to rebound effectively in the NBA, he should be a productive bench player for the Celtics quite quickly.

Singler had a disappointing end to his Blue Devil career and was exposed as a play toy for Arizona's Derrek Williams. Mu guess is that is simply a preview of things to come as Singler will be the latest Dukie that struggles in the NBA.
