2011 College Football Rankings: Predicting Number of Bowl Berths by Conference

Amidst the excitement of March Madness, it’s time we get back to everyone’s top sport—football.

As awesome as March Madness 2011 has been, there’s nothing like the BCS Bowl season. That is the time when us football fans get to see the top players in the nation on the grand stage. I know there’s nothing like waking up in the morning and being able to turn on football to watch the rest of the day and seeing each and every talent out there put on the best show they can.

The Bowl season is truly like none other and, including the BCS National Championship, its weeks of 35 exciting gridiron battles. Although most teams receive a bowl berth, it’s still an honor to be chosen to any bowl, but mainly the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta Bowls. As every team in the nation fights for the top spot in the BCS Rankings and a chance to represent their school in the BCS Championship game, we still see spectacular games from top to bottom in the Bowl season.

We’re going to analyze each conference to see which teams, and how many, will receive a bowl berth in 2011-2012. Just as important, we’re going to take a look at some of the top players who will lead their team to their bowl berth.
