Swiperboy’s latest song pays homage to the U.S. troops

Either a high-ranking military source tipped off Ronaldo Woolridge that the U.S. had Osama Bin Laden in its crosshairs Sunday night, or the Tennessee forward is a particularly efficient lyricist.

Woolridge, better known by his rap name Swiperboy, released a song Monday thanking the U.S. military for its role in the killing of Bin Laden. The song entitled "USA Troops (Thank You) - aka Bin Laden is Gone" has received mostly positive reviews so far both for its surprising quality and for its positive message.

In between school and basketball, Woolridge has found time to release a handful of songs, from his homage to the start of college hoops season, "Tip Off (College Hoops Time), to his remix of Rocky Top. He also nearly landed the Vols in hot water with the NCAA when he received exclusive access to the upstairs portion of a Knoxville bar at no charge in January in order to shoot a video for one of his songs.

The greatest measure of Woolridge's latest song is in the comments section beneath the YouTube clip. Wrote one ex-soldier: "This means alot, I've been on two tours of duty (in) Iraq and I want to say THANK YOU! Some people could care? less about us, but this means alot..Thank you Swiperboy and Go Vols!!!!"

There you go. If it brings a smile to a solider's face, then it's a rousing success.
