Packers Offensive Line Deserves a Thank You From MVP Aaron Rodgers

If I was a member of Green Bay Packers offensive line, the moment I saw that game plan of four and five wide receivers I'm taking a big gulp.

There is no chance for max protection, no chance to pick up the extra runner at the quarterback. This was the Steelers on the other side of the ball, a bunch of marauders, right?

Pittsburgh's 3-4 had to be blocked by five interior linemen. James Harrison comes flying off the edge. Defensive backs stack to one side and rush in tandem.

The Green Bay line handled things on their own

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers stayed upright to make big plays in the passing game. He was sacked three times, but the Steelers could not ruin the Packers' pass game with pressure.

Rodgers threw for 304 yards. He could have thrown for 375 yards, but the Packers' receivers -- minus Donald Driver -- dropped at least six passes.

What was interesting is there was some depth to the routes the Packers' receivers were running. They were not short five-yard routes; these were 12 and 14 yards down field.

The Packers averaged 12.6 yards per reception because their quarterback had time to throw. Rodgers threw touchdown passes of 29, 21, and eight yards.

There is not an unrestricted free agent along the Green Bay offensive line. That's a good thing for Rodgers and the Packers once football is played again.
